<p><em>USA Today</em> publishes a weekly bestseller list for books which  runs every Thursday in the Life section. It features the top 50 books  all in one list regardless of format (hardcover, trade paperback, or  mass market paperback).</p>
<p>The <em>USA Today</em> Best Selling Books list  is compiled from computer generated reports from actual retail sales at  the major bookstore chains as well as a few independent bookstores  (3,000 large-inventory, diverse-content stores). The Top 150 bestsellers  each week are featured online at <a href="http://top150.usatoday.com/">top150.usatoday.com</a>.</p>
